At the beginning of the meeting, President Imam Ali Rahman said that Tajikistan is optimistic about the future development of relations with Qatar at all levels of common interest, and considers mutual cooperation between parliaments an effective way to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and ensure common interests at the regional and international levels.

Interest was expressed about revitalizing the Parliamentary Friendship Group of Tajikistan and Qatar, and it was noted that in this way the two parliaments could play an effective role in enhancing the level of bilateral relations in all fields.

I consider permanent political dialogue for Tajikistan and Qatar at the highest level as a basis for developing and expanding relations between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on the importance of parliamentary cooperation to ensure security and stability in the region and combat new threats and challenges, including international terrorism and extremism.

Confidence was also expressed that the parliaments of the two countries will actively contribute to the realization of the documents signed during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Imam Ali Rahman, in Qatar and contribute to the implementation of the new bilateral cooperation plans.
