Participation in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council
The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on May 29.
The meeting was attended by heads of the EAEU member states, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The President of Moldova was invited to the meeting as the head of an EAEU observer state and the President of Tajikistan attended the event as a guest of honor.
In his speech, the President Emomali Rahmon stressed that Tajikistan and EAEU member states have a close relationship of friendship and cooperation, both in bilateral formats and within the framework of the CIS and the CSTO. The successful development of trade and economic relations between the countries attests to this.
The head of state noted that the issue of developing and strengthening relations with EAEU partners has a special status in Tajikistan’s foreign policy. “In this context, Tajikistan pays special attention to the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with the CIS countries in all aspects, including in the field of security”, the President stressed.
During his speech, the President noted that the countries are real partners within the framework of the integration in the fight against security threats, such as terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and other forms of transnational organised crime.
At the end, President Emomali Rahmon expressed his confidence in the ability of the countries in finding good ways to ensure the socio-economic development of the countries in solving great problems in all directions.
