Meeting with the World Bank Regional Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller
On November 16, in the Palace of the Nation, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the World Bank Regional Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the World Bank were discussed.
The President of the country Emomali Rahmon thanked the World Bank for realizing the importance of building the Roghun hydropower plant in ensuring energy independence, transparent analysis and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The parties discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation, financial support for achieving sustainable development, various aspects of development, the implementation of Tajikistan’s strategic goals and improving the living standards of the population, and highly assessed its results for both parties.
It was noted that 17 state investment projects in the fields of education, healthcare, agriculture, water supply, energy, transport, ecology and others are currently being implemented in Tajikistan with the support of the World Bank.
Other issues being of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
