Meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Shri Narendra Modi
In the second half of the 9th June in Qinhdao City on the sidelines of the Summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Heads of States the The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon also had a cordially and fruitful meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Shri Narendra Modi, and a wide range of cooperation issues was discussed.
The Head of the Republic expressed his satisfaction with the current level of collaboration and political trust between the two countries, and emphasized that mutual support among countries within SCO frameworks would serve as another factor for the development of constructive cooperation between Tajikistan and India.
The two sides stressed the importance of political, trade, and economical cooperation, and in the process of their development the continuation effective function of inter-parliamentary relations and the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was considered necessary.
It was stressed that Tajikistan is ready to attract Indian investment for implementation of projects in infrastructure, production, trade, service, energy, particularly generation of renewable energy, establishing joint production ventures in different areas.
The increase of the number of direct flights between Dushanbe and Delhi, use of existing potentials of Tajikistan in the area of tourism, widening cooperation and experience sharing in the area of medicine were considered important and beneficiary for the peoples.
Strengthening of cooperation in establishing joint diagnostic and medical care centers, humanitarian, cultural and education was deemed beneficiary for the two countries.
During the talk, the subject of ensuring peace and stability in Afghanistan as a key factor of security for all Central Asia region was also discussed.
