The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Hiroshima on October 3, 2018, starting his official visit to Japan.

As a sign of respect and esteem, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon laid a wreath at the monument to the victims of the atomic bombing of 1945 at the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima.

It should be noted that during the final stage of World War II atomic bomb was dropped on August 6 that completely destroyed most of the town of Hiroshima.

To honour the memory of the victims of this terrible tragedy a Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park was built here. In this park is preserved the A-bomb Dome, in which most of the building’s walls were destroyed in the bombing. In the postwar era it became a symbol of the atomic bombing; in 1996 it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon also toured Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and made an inscription in the distinguished guests book.
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum is located in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The main building conveys what happened on August 6, 1945, through scientific explanations and exhibits of items belonging to the victims.

In wreath-laying ceremony the head of our state was accompanied by the mayor of the Hiroshima city Kazumi Matsui and the Director of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum Kenji Shiga.

The visit of the President of our country Emomali Rahmon to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is the highest sign of humanism and respect for the memory of victims of weapons of mass destruction.
